Rienk Geene is a real generalist, within the biological realm. He participates in many projects involving ecology and nature-restoration. In 1989 he obtained a degree in biology and geography, at the teachers college D'Witte Lelie in Amsterdam. In 1993 he completed a study in biology at the University of Amsterdam with a MSc. degree. Since that date he participated in many ornithological projects in the Netherlands and in Egypt, Guinea Bissau and Tanzania. His expertise focuses on ornithology, marine biology, biodiversity, nature-restoration, human health (vector-born diseases) and communication.
